Alberta Express Entry Stream
Alberta's stream for candidates who already hold an Express Entry profile. AAIP invites profiles through its worker EOI pool, focusing on set pathways (tech, health care, law enforcement) and priority sectors rather than general Alberta ties.
Who it suits
- Express Entry candidates (CEC, FSW or FST eligible) with a CRS of at least 300 whose primary occupation matches an AAIP pathway or priority sector
- Workers with an Alberta tech, health care or police job offer
- Candidates who intend to live and work permanently in Alberta
Requirements
- Ee profileActive Express Entry profile and eligibility under CEC, FSW or FST, with a CRS score of at least 300. ↗ alberta.ca
- OccupationPrimary occupation in the Express Entry profile must fit a pathway or an AAIP priority sector (construction, agriculture, aviation); occupations on the Alberta Opportunity Stream ineligible list are excluded. ↗ alberta.ca
- Intent to resideMust intend and be able to live and work permanently in Alberta; no prior Alberta residence is required. No active nomination under another AAIP stream. ↗ alberta.ca
- Language workThe Alberta page states no separate language or work-experience number; the federal program you qualify under (CEC/FSW/FST) sets those. ↗ alberta.ca
- FeesWorker EOI fee is $135 (effective 2026-04-07); application fee for worker streams is $1,500 (since 2025-04-01). Invited candidates have 15 days to accept an invitation and 30 days to finish the draft application. ↗ alberta.ca
How candidates are selected
Worker EOI scored out of 100, valid 12 months. AAIP invites by pathway/sector priority; recent draws were targeted (tech, health care, agriculture, manufacturing, construction, aviation, law enforcement). Worker EOI (WEOI) is scored out of 100 on education, work experience, language and age; AAIP also weighs non-scored data such as NOC, industry and wage, so score alone does not decide selection.
Location requirement: None for the base stream; tech, health care and law enforcement pathways need an Alberta job offer.
Processing: Allocation 2026: Accelerated Tech 619 (485 issued), Priority Sectors 619 (571 issued, 48 left), Law Enforcement 12. AAIP was assessing Accelerated Tech applications received from 2026-06-23. Federal Express Entry PR stage is separate.
