How candidates are selected

Candidates submit an EOI in the Immigration Accelerator Portal. The province issues invitations in batches through the year on a priority basis (no points score): health occupations, rural sales and service, rural/regional jobs, underrepresented occupations, employer track record, retention likelihood, NL graduates, Francophone growth and settlement support. EOIs expire after 12 months.

Location requirement: Job offer from an NL employer; intent to settle in NL.

Processing: After an invitation the candidate has 30 days to submit a complete application. The province says it has no standard NLPNP processing times. A nomination certificate is valid for 6 months. IRCC processing for the federal stage is in IRCC's tool.
