Skilled Worker EOI draws continue (draw numbers up to #280 published in September 2026). EOI draws for the Business Investor Stream are not currently being conducted; business EOIs are reviewed within four weeks. The temporary public policy for work permits for prospective candidates ended 2025-12-15. As of 2026-03-02 the MPNP no longer answers direct emails.

How the province selects

Expression of Interest ranked by points; draws issue Letters of Advice to Apply to Skilled Worker (in Manitoba and Overseas) and International Education candidates, often by occupation group or strategic recruitment initiative.

  • Draw #269 issued 308 Letters of Advice to Apply, of which 105 went to candidates who declared an Express Entry profile.
  • Initial 2025 allocation was 4,750 (a 50% cut from 2024); a later increase of 1,489 brought it to 6,239.
  • On 2026-02-04 the Temporary Resident Retention Pilot removed hospitality and food services and added skilled trades.
  • On 2026-04-14 Manitoba opted into two temporary Temporary Foreign Worker measures (higher low-wage cap of 15% outside Winnipeg) running to 2027-03-31.
  • The employer-focused Employer Direct Initiative resumed 2025-09-02 with updated criteria.
