What it shows
Search by NOC code, by occupation name or by job title. The finder holds all 516 occupations (unit groups) of NOC 2021 Version 1.0, the version IRCC uses, together with Statistics Canada's official example job titles, so a search for "marketing coordinator" or "line cook" leads to the right code. For each occupation it shows the TEER level, whether it counts for FSW, CEC and FST, and every 2026 Express Entry category that lists it, with the latest cutoff. Enter how many months you have worked in the job in the last three years to see whether you meet the 12-month category rule.
Common questions
Where does the list come from?
From Statistics Canada's published files for NOC 2021 Version 1.0. Codes, English names and example titles are copied without change. Chinese occupation names are our own translation; the official classification exists in English and French only.
How do you decide FSW, CEC and FST?
By IRCC's rules, applied to every code. TEER is the second digit of the code. FSW and CEC accept TEER 0, 1, 2 and 3. FST accepts Major Groups 72 (except Sub-Major Group 726), 73, 82, 83, 92 and 93 (except Sub-Major Group 932), plus Minor Group 6320 and Unit Group 62200.
My job title matches more than one code.
The title is only a pointer. IRCC goes by the lead statement and the main duties of the occupation: you should perform the actions in the lead statement and most of the main duties. Open the official description from the result and compare it with your reference letter.
Do the 12 months have to be in Canada?
Only for the physicians, senior managers and researchers categories. For the others, work abroad counts.
