Replaced Closed. Ontario's streams page says the new Ontario Workforce Priority stream has launched and all other streams are closed. The archived stream page is marked closed as of 2026-05-30; the 2026 updates page records the formal redesign announcement and closure of the eight streams on 2026-06-26 (dates differ between the two pages). The stream was also suspended on 2025-11-14 after the OINP Director found systemic misrepresentation or fraud. Successor: Ontario Workforce Priority stream (CLB 5 and secondary diploma for skilled trades jobs with a job offer).

Former Express Entry-linked Ontario stream for tradespeople who already had Ontario work experience, with no job offer needed. It is closed and was suspended before the redesign.

Requirements

  2. Former workFormer rule: at least one year cumulative paid full-time work (or part-time equivalent) in Ontario within 2 years before applying, in NOC major groups 72, 73, 82, 83, 93 or minor group 6320; valid Ontario trade certification for compulsory trades. ↗ ontario.ca

How candidates are selected

No longer selecting: the stream is closed. Successor: the Ontario Workforce Priority stream, which uses an expression-of-interest pool and points grid.

Location requirement: Former rule: must live and work in Ontario.

Processing: IRCC's service standard for the federal PR stage after nomination is 180 days for Express Entry-linked nominees and 11 months for paper (non-Express Entry) nominees, not counting the province's own processing. Ontario publishes no overall processing time on its application-process page.
