What the work involves

Main duties

  • Assess patients to decide on nursing interventions
  • Plan and deliver care with the health team, patients and families
  • Give medication and treatments as ordered or by protocol
  • Monitor and record symptoms and changes in condition
  • Operate or monitor medical equipment and assist in procedures
  • May supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff
