What the work involves

Main duties

  • Develop and run programs that support children's physical, intellectual, emotional and social growth
  • Lead activities such as stories, songs, art, dramatic play and outings
  • Keep the environment safe and healthy
  • Watch for learning or behaviour concerns and report to parents or supervisors
  • Talk with parents and co-workers about children's progress
  • Supervise other educators and assistants
