What the work involves

Main duties

  • Apply machine learning, deep learning and AI methods to make data analysis more efficient
  • Run large-scale experiments to uncover relationships in big datasets
  • Build and apply algorithms such as regression, clustering, decision trees and neural networks
  • Extract, clean and organize data using programming languages
  • Present data visually so the business can decide quickly
  • Develop AI models and put them into use for the organization

Employment requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, computer systems engineering or a related field, or a college computer science program
  • A master's or doctorate in machine learning, data science or a quantitative field is usually required
  • Programming experience and statistical modelling or machine learning experience are usually required
